I really enjoy the opportunity to travel with our teams and the chance to get to know the coaches as well as the student-athletes better. I truly love Division II athletics and Winona State University because of the camaraderie. The minute I jump on the bus I’m instantly welcomed into the group. There are no egos at this level; there is simply a desire to play the game that they love. Each student-athlete is here for the right reasons and that is to get an education and participate in athletics. On these road trips I can see the makings of lifelong friendships and relationships among many members of the team. I feel extremely fortunate to see what happens behind the scenes…. I see the blood, sweat and tears…. I see the hard work that happens, I see the long hours, late nights and long bus rides. Most of all I see a group of talented individuals coming together to form a team and work towards a common goal. Needless to say Winona State is a special place with outstanding people. Thank you for following our soccer team this weekend, look for updates tomorrow.
